An exciting project Stepclever have been involved with is a newly developed digital and media enterprises incubator based in a refurbished 5 storey warehouse in Kirkdale.

Managed by Elizabeth Rothwell & Sarah Davidson, Box Studios opened in July this year, and overlooks Atlantic Park on the outskirts of Liverpool City Centre.

This once abandoned warehouse, has been fully refurbished with the help of Stepclever to provide flexible offices accommodation, with six new businesses relocating from outside the area into the building.

They offer a range of comprehensive services including reception, centralised switchboard, fax and copying facilities, high-speed broadband and in-house IT support. It also offers flexible meeting spaces ideal for conferences, meetings or exhibitions along with free on street parking and a large loading area.

Sarah said "Stepclever's help has been integral to the creation of Box Studios. Financially, they have supported both the refurbishment of the building and a number of start-up business now located here. We have also found the business support network and guidance available to us invaluable."

But Stepclever's involvement doesn't stop there.

Based on the top floors of the Box Studios are Mersey City Music (MCM) who opened their doors on 1st August this year.

Having successfully secured Stepclever funding, MCM are able to provide all of the latest sound production recording software and equipment, with purpose built "practice rooms" for any aspiring band or performer to hire. Uniquely MCM has full disability access and welcome people of any ability, background, or musical interest.

Down in the basement at Box Studios, is Stamps Brewery, created by a local bar owner, who's bars "Stamps" and "Stamps Too" are renowned for their focus on quality real ale, boasting 12 hand pumps between them.
The inception of Stamps Brewery is in order to further promote real ale, and complement the other emerging local real ale brewers.

Launched earlier this year, the site it is a vital and indispensable, unique site, showcasing anything and everything about Liverpool's music, past, present and future.

It is run by young people interested in Liverpool music, and welcomes contributions from anyone interested in all aspects of local music, whether this is to get their own music or band featured on the site, to provide an article, gig or album review, or to find out anything at all about Liverpool music.

Liverpoolmusic.com is forging close links with local schools, colleges and universities and will show live recordings, video content of live and original music, and will be a one stop shop for fans of Liverpool music worldwide.
