Great Company
Great Company, a business dedicated to arranging social events for the over 50s, is celebrated its one year anniversary – and members and non-members were invited to a special disco at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory to mark the occasion.
The company received £10,000 funding from Stepclever in 2009 and has since arranged more than 200 events and has more than 100 members.
Director of Great Company, Jacqueline Boylan, said: “It’s fantastic to reach the one-year mark, and this event is really going to act as a launch, as we’ve been so busy arranging all the arts and leisure events that we never officially launched the business!
“Great Company is all about helping people improve and manage their social life, just because you hit 50 or 60 doesn’t mean an end to going out and having fun – in my opinion – life begins at 50!”

Local social enterprise recognised for fantastic growth
Merseyside based social enterprise Elixir Foundations has been congratulated by a member of the Cabinet Office for achieving fantastic growth over the last year and being shortlisted for a prestigious RBS SE100 “Trailblazing Newcomer” award. Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd MP said “I am very impressed with the business that Elixir Foundations has set up, experiencing fantastic growth for a new business alongside a powerful social mission that [they] deliver so successfully.”

Bringing enterprising ideas to life
Hamra Alam, a Northwest Enterprise Ambassador, brought her entrepreneurial expertise over to Notre Dame Catholic College of the Arts on Friday 21st May, 2010 to discuss fashion enterprise with over 100 eager pupils. Hamra Alam, originally from South Yorkshire, is an up and coming fashion designer with an international client list to prove it.
