Great Company, a business dedicated to arranging social events for the over 50s, is celebrated its one year anniversary – and members and non-members were invited to a special disco at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory to mark the occasion.
The company received £10,000 funding from Stepclever in 2009 and has since arranged more than 200 events and has more than 100 members.
Director of Great Company, Jacqueline Boylan, said: “It’s fantastic to reach the one-year mark, and this event is really going to act as a launch, as we’ve been so busy arranging all the arts and leisure events that we never officially launched the business!
“Great Company is all about helping people improve and manage their social life, just because you hit 50 or 60 doesn’t mean an end to going out and having fun – in my opinion – life begins at 50!”

The Stepclever Business Neighbourhoods project aims to make Stepclever areas safer and cleaner so that businesses want to stay or start up in the area.
After working for his father’s furniture company for six years, Jamie Thompson decided to stay in the industry, but add creative and artistic flair.
