On Thursday the 26th March Bedford Primary School held a Business Community Event for invited guests who got the chance to find out all about the award winning internet radio station and web site - ‘Bedford Beats’ - created by the schools very own pupils!
The enterprising children who make up the Bedford Beats crew gave a lively presentation introducing the station and website as well as displaying their own marketing skills. Representatives from each of the participating businesses, which included Vision 2000, Asda, Enable, Making Faces, Sprinter Printer and Facelift, were interviewed by the children who learned first hand about a number of different enterprises and organisations. With their new found business knowledge the children will be creating a range of exclusive adverts for each of the supporting businesses in the coming weeks.
The station and website, funded by local regeneration enterprise initiative Stepclever, has been running since last September and the Bedford Beats crew have been busy uploading stories and podcasts allowing pupils to read the stories that are important to them.
The children have already completed a number of blogs, articles and podcasts from various activities and have uploaded them onto their website. http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/bedford
Stepclever is a free service available to anyone who lives or runs a business in the wards of Linacre, Derby, County, Kirkdale, Anfield or Everton.
