Who we are

Stepclever is a private sector driven partnership.

Representatives from the Merseyside business community lead on the programme and are working alongside Liverpool City Council, Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council and the community and voluntary sector to share resources, expertise and experience.

This collaboration ensures individuals benefit from a comprehensive package which will help them overcome any barriers which may be standing in the way of their business dream, and support them in making the most of business opportunities that exist.

Stepclever is funded by the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI). This is a national programme that is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government, within central Government. Visit www.neighbourhood.gov.uk for more information.

Liverpool City Council is the accountable body for the programme.

"Stepclever is the product of close collaboration and trust between the two councils and strong partnership with private sector colleagues. Our work will adopt a person-centred and business-centred approach to the generation of wealth and economic activity through enterprise. The Liverpool City Region is enjoying exciting positive growth and we are determined to ensure that the benefits and opportunities are enjoyed by local people" Mike Taylor, Director of Investment & Enterprise, Liverpool Vision, and Chair of the Stepclever Board.
